This form of physical therapy is based on the logical scientific philosophy that the mechanics of the body have a direct correlation to health - meaning, your body works best when in alignment. This practice sources the physical cause of your symptoms, and works to improve the problem through gentle manipulation to allow your body to function at its best. This is done with consideration of how you move, stand, sit and sleep - we will connect the dots by releasing sore, tight muscles and fascia (a connective network of tissue in your body) and by making sure your joints are functioning optimally. This can leave you feeling energized, moving better with more clarity and less aches.

Adam is a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. Prior to studying Osteopathy, he graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology.

A lifetime of various sports as well as 10 years of competitive rugby left Adam with a laundry list of injuries at a young age that set him on a path of figuring out how to reverse and manage pain in its many forms. Trying various types of therapy with little success, he eventually found an Osteopathic Manual Therapist who was able to correct his neck while tying it into rib, digestive and low back issues.

At the heart of osteopathy lies the principle of association. It’s an understanding of the interconnectedness of all structures in the body and how dysfunction in one place can lead to a chain reaction of dysfunction in other areas of the body. Each person is unique and requires an individually tailored approach to treatment. Adam’s goal in treatment is to leave no stone unturned as he assesses all areas of the body to find the root cause of your symptoms and pain. Once these areas are corrected, the body can begin its own natural healing processes.

Driven by a passion for helping people to live well, Julie has acquired a wealth of education and experience in the wellness field. From yoga and fitness to nutrition and personal growth, her own wellness journey has dictated the direction of a career in wellness spanning over 10 years. Not long after feeling relief from Osteopathic Manual Therapy for chronic shoulder and neck issue that was actually rooted in her hip, did she herself enrol and begin her education. Drawing from her background, she aims to share a well-rounded treatment experience that is both therapeutic and educational.

The philosophy of osteopathy was what attracted her to the practice: consideration of the body as a whole combined with the logical understanding of the direct correlation between the mechanics of the body and health - meaning the body works most optimally when in alignment. This practice sources the cause of your symptoms, and works to improve the issue through gentle manipulation to allow your body to function at its best. This is done through consideration of how you move, stand, sit and sleep - Julie will connect the dots by releasing sore, tight muscles and fascia (a connective network of tissue in your body) and by ensuring optimal joint function optimally. Alyssa was raised in Guelph and began her studies earning a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and went on to graduate from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. She is an active member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association.

Her hobbies of volleyball, competitive dance and fitness have created a healthy and active lifestyle for her and an aptitude for improving the well-being of others. This passion inspired further curiosity to learn and understand the human body and how it operates as a dynamic unit of function as it pertains to each individual.

Osteopathy became a pathway for her to acquire the knowledge and skills to help restore proper anatomical and physiological barriers preventing the body’s natural ability to self-heal and self-regulate. Now, through her practice she is able to use osteopathic principles in both assessment and treatment to determine how to liberate the nerve, artery, vein and lymphatic systems allowing the tissues to receive proper fluid dynamics. Treatment is aimed to liberate these structures to allow proper physiological mechanisms so the body can return to normal functioning and improve the wellbeing of the individual.

Cortney is a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) and a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. Before studying at the CAO, she graduated from the Human Services Foundations and Recreation and Leisure Services programs at Conestoga College and the Stratford Chefs School.

Her lifelong passion for sports came with an assortment of injuries, exposing her to various forms of healthcare treatments. As a result, she discovered the benefits of osteopathy and decided it was time to pivot from her career as a chef. For Cortney, osteopathy revealed the intertwined nature of the different structures in the human body, which sparked her curiosity into how it could help people with bodily dysfunctions in their everyday lives. Using osteopathy to understand the body as a dynamic unit of function enables her to provide gentle manipulation to the muscles and connective tissues which can increase motion, decrease pain, and bring balance to the body. Through the realignment of muscles, connective tissue and joints, the body can then have a clearer pathway for intrinsic self-healing processes.

Cortney’s osteopathic treatments are non-invasive, all clothing is worn, and collaborated goals are cultivated to guide the body toward balance. Reach out today to see how Cortney can help you toward your path to a more mobile and adaptable body.
